What's Next???

New art will be up in the restaurant on June 8.
The artist showing her work is Judi Cain.
Here is her statement :

"My name is Judi, and I have been been an artist my whole life. As a child I would take my lunch money and secretly purchase beautiful inks, and hoard my treasured supplies. I became a school teacher, and taught art classes, then began making portraits, while living the life of a traveling artist. I began to realize how rigid the "rules" that I set for myself were, in the way of how I was supposed to create art. All these years of teaching other people that there are no rules and no mistakes in art, and there I was with so many for myself!  My Creative Energy painting is an emergence from this cocoon. I allow the energy to flow through myself and my brush, and work to release this flow from my ideas of what is "right" and what is "wrong". I work to free it with joyous expression. These new discoveries have breathed a new life and perspective to my portraits as well, showing me new hidden secrets in my subjects, colors and depths. I cannot wait to see what this journey will bring next!"

What's Next ???

The artists who will show their art in the restaurant for May are--
Lynda Lou Simmons &
Emma Sullivan

Here is what they have to say :

Emma:
I’m a journalism student at the University of Florida, but to define myself as merely an academic doesn't quite do me justice. I am a passionate and creative individual who looks at the world a bit differently than most. On any given day, you can find me painting, building my company CollegeVox, booking flights across the country (or globe for that matter), and perhaps, most importantly, interacting with the world one moment at a time in the most positive ways I can.

Lynda Lou:
For a number of decades I have played around with art. I often like the art that happens when I'm playing , when I'm not taking myself too seriously and ( therefore) having fun.
Now let me tell you, this is not always what happens. Understatement. But it is a serious thrill when it does.
The oldest piece in this show I did in 1988-ish; the newest just the other day. Both times, I am happy to say, I was playing.
